2009 Spring - A New Generation

A litter of newborn wild rabbits. Well they are obviously not 'newborns' anymore, you'll be surprised at how fast they can grow, which is why they are regarded as pests to most communities. When i took this, they are about a little over one week old.

Because the weather this winter is really unstable with too much fluctuations, which are way beyond what normal winters should be like, i grew increasingly worried for them every time the temperature drops too much compared to the previous day. Even if they are kept warm by their mother's fur and dry leaves (packed on top of the dug out nest), they are not adapted well enough for such an all too cold pre-Spring.

Oh, it was the dogs who found them...they are hunting dogs after all.
